Instrument management with color

AtmosDot

Color Coded Labels

Color-coded instrument labels that simplify sorting, speed up workflows, and withstand daily sterilization cycles.

Benefits of color

Why color coded labels?

AtmosDot instrument labels are durable, color-coded markers that help separate instruments by department, specialty, or procedure. Each label can be customized with matrix codes, text, or symbols to clearly show which tray or set the instrument belongs to.

When mixed instruments return from the OR, the color coding allows staff to quickly identify and sort them correctly, reducing errors and improving CSSD workflow efficiency.

The Wellbeing services county of Central Ostrobothnia Soite provides social and health care services

AtmosDot identification labels are used to mark instrument sets in order to replace outdated and impractical tapes. T-Doc is the operational management system currently in use, where individual labels will be further utilized in the future.

In particular, the dental department has recently seen a significant increase in instruments sent for reprocessing, making clear identification more important than ever.

During the first years, mostly black labels were used, but in recent years the effectiveness and advantages of color-coded labels have been clearly recognized.

At the South Karelia Social and Health Services, we work to promote the well-being, safety, and health of the people of South Karelia.

The identification labels are primarily used for marking dental instruments, and they have performed reliably without any issues. Managing color-coded surgical trays and dental instruments has been easy and has streamlined daily operations. Instruments no longer “pile up” in a single room (e.g., 10 pieces) but are now organized and readily available.

The Kymenlaakso Wellbeing Services County is responsible for organizing social, health, and rescue services in the Kymenlaakso region.

The labels have held up very well and have been useful for tracking. Clips on washing containers and surgical trays have helped monitor the process. The individual tracking features of the Gemini operational management system have not yet been fully utilized, and the use of color-coded identification labels will expand as the old tape-based solutions are phased out.

The use of identification labels with 2D Matrix codes for instruments began in the fall of 2020 and they have worked flawlessly from the start. Some of the first labels are still in circulation.
